ABC 7 Chicago is welcoming back one its anchors with a playful new promo.
- Hosea Sanders anchors the 7 p.m. newscast the station produces for Weigel Broadcasting’s WCIU.
- Sanders has been off the air for several months after announcing he was diagnosed with prostate cancer.
- Sanders underwent surgery but is now back at work.
- That newscast is known as “ABC 7 Eyewitness News on WCIU, The U.”
- WCIU brands on air as “The U” and that logo design appears in the promo.
- Sanders was previously WLS’s morning anchor and also reports on disability issues for all of the station’s newscasts. He also appears as a fill-in anchor on other ABC 7 Eyewitness News newscasts.
