Amazon’s Audible audiobook company is offering a selection of free streams targeted at kids during the coronavirus outbreak.
Titles are available in English, Spanish, French, German, Japanese and Italian and are divided into categories such as “Littlest Listeners” and “Folk & Fairy Tales for All.”
There’s about 50-70 titles in each category.
Dubbed Audible Stories, the service is being made available without any accounts or logins via standard web browsers.
Audible will offer the streams “for as long as schools are closed.”
Many of the titles available are audio versions of books in the public domain or that have been published a while back, though there are some newer titles mixed in.
Normally Audible costs $14.95 a month but users are limited to one audiobook and two “Audible Originals” per month — plus guided wellness content.
