CBS is airing a promo for its “Evening News” newscast that focuses on anchor Norah O’Donnell.
“Telling the whole story means where going where the story is. Listening when people are hurting. Getting to the heart of what matters. That’s who Norah is. That’s what Norah does,” says the announcer.
The spot doesn’t include as much focus on the broadcast’s Washington, D.C. home base except for a brief mention near the end as O’Donnell is shown talking on the phone outside with the Capitol in the background.
It does, however, appear to be emphasizing O’Donnell as a caring yet adventurous reporter.
“CBS Evening News” still languishes in last place in the ratings among the big three network evening newscasts despite the high profile ouster of former anchor Jeff Glor, promotion of O’Donnell and move to D.C. with a brand new set.
