Former Democratic presidential candidate Andrew Yang has joined CNN as a commentator just over a week after dropping out of the race.

He first appeared on the network Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2020, which happened to be the date of NBC and MSNBC’s telecast of the latest Democratic debate.

As a commentator, Yang will most likely be paid for his appearances on CNN programming, though details of the deal were not released.

Yang, an entrepreneur, made history as one of the first prominent Asian American politicians on the national political stage.

He was almost unheard of a national level until launching his campaign.
