Lester Holt visiting key states in ‘Across America’ tour

“NBC Nightly News” with Lester Holt hits the road the week of Oct 26, 2020, traveling to key battleground states just one week ahead of the historic 2020 presidential election.

As part of the newscast’s special “Across America” series, Holt will be on the ground, talking to voters and taking their pulse on crucial issues, including jobs, the economy, health care, racial injustice and the government’s response to combating COVID-19, the network announced in a press release.

• Monday, October 26: Holt will be in Las Vegas, Nevada, speaking directly to residents affected by the state’s high unemployment rate about which candidate they believe can lead America through an economic recovery.
• Tuesday, October 27: As Wisconsin experiences a peak in coronavirus cases, Holt will talk to voters in Milwaukee about possible restrictions and shutdowns, as well as the country’s racial and social unrest.
• Wednesday, October 28: Holt will report from the critical state of Pennsylvania and speak to residents in Wilkes-Barre who voted for President Obama in 2012 and then for Donald Trump in 2016, as well as Republicans planning to vote for Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden.

Next week, “Nightly” will also feature reports on issues related to U.S. election security and voting as part of NBC News and MSNBC’s week-long “Vote Watch” series. The series is led by the network’s Vote Watch Unit, a team of more than 24 correspondents and reporters focused on social media misinformation and disinformation, voting machines and technology, election administration, voting procedures, rights and access, voter disenfranchisement and voting rights.

Nightly News’ fourth installment of “Across America” was previously postponed due to breaking news events, including Donald Trump’s positive Covid diagnosis and the Senate Confirmation hearings for Judge Amy Coney Barrett.
