Orlando forecaster Amy Sweezey leaving WESH
Amy Sweezey, the morning meteorologist at WESH in Orlando, says she’s leaving the station after 18 years, reports the Orlando Sentinel.
Sweezey says she opted not to renew her contract and will sign off April 16, 2020.
Sweezey previously worked evening shifts at the station but has been on the morning show for 11 years — meaning a 2 a.m. wakeup call to be camera ready at 4:30 a.m.
In an interview with the Sentinel, Sweezey says she’s staying put in the area, but doesn’t have another TV job lined up, though she may work some freelance gigs and work on another weather related book.
She’s looking forward to having more flexibility in her schedule.
