The special is scheduled for 7 p.m. eastern Sunday, March 22, 2020 and will stream live on Broadway.com.

O’Donnell will host the variety show style format with Sarah Jessica Parker, Gloria Estefan, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Harvey Fierstein, Morgan Freeman, Neil Patrick Harris, Judith Light, Barry Manilow, Audra McDonald, Idina Menzel, Billy Porter, Andrew Rannells, Chita Rivera, Jordin Sparks, Ben Vereen, Matthew Broderick, Tituss Burgess and Kristin Chenoweth all joining the broadcast — from their homes.

“Everybody who knows me knows that Broadway has been one of the brightest lights in my life since the time I was a little girl,” said O’Donnell  in a statement. “It has also been the lifeblood of New York City for generation after generation. After all Broadway has given to the world, now — in this time of tremendous need — it’s our turn to give something back.”

The show will raise money for The Actors Fund, which provides services for those work in the entertainment industry.

Broadway, along with many other entertainment venues, have gone dark as the coronavirus epidemic grew, displacing thousands of performers, crew members and other creatives.
