American journalist David Rohde, who was famously kidnapped by the Taliban in 2018 before escaping in 2019, has fired back at reports that immigrants are being held in detention centers without access to basic necessities.
- Rohde was responding to a tweet from Michael Scott Moore, who was held captive nearly 1,000 days by Somali pirates who pointed out he had access to soap and toothpaste.
- Rohde’s tweet, which echoed Moore’s sentiment, said in his tweet he was given soap and toothpaste by his captors.
