‘CBS Evening News’ hires CNN producer as its EP

CBS News has hired the former executive producer of CNN’s “The Situation Room” as permanent executive producer of “CBS Evening News.”
- Jay Shaylor has been EP of CNN’s Wolf Blitzer hosted show since 2013.
- He will start at the network next month and will be based in Washington, D.C.
- “CBS Evening News” is currently produced out of New York, but will move to Washington in November.
- Norah O’Donnell, who took over as anchor in July, lives in Washington as well.
- “Evening News” hasn’t had a permanent EP since its relaunch, but Kim Godwin, an executive VP in the news division, has filled the role.
