“CBS Saturday Morning” has registered a narrow win over NBC’s Saturday edition of “Today.”
According to the network, the show delivered 1.9 million viewers Oct. 15, 2022, just about 1,000 more than NBC’s “Today.”
It still fell behind “Today” in the adults 25-54 demo but did win in the male segment of that figure, but again only by about 1,000 viewers.
Michelle Miller, Dana Jacobson and Jeff Glor co-anchor “CBS Saturday Morning,” the weekend version of “CBS Mornings,” from New York, while Peter Alexander and Kristen Welker anchor “Today” on Saturdays from Washington, D.C.
Both show still trail ABC’s “Good Morning America” Saturday edition, which had about 2.5 million viewers Oct. 15.
In some markets, such as Chicago, “CBS Saturday Morning” airs from 6 to 8 a.m. local time, compared to “Today” from 7 to 9 a.m. and it’s not immediately clear how those time differences were accounted for in CBS’s announcement or how it may have affected the data, if at all.
CBS and NBC did not respond to requests for clarification.
