Chicago sportscaster switches to news — at least for this week

Longtime Chicago sports reporter Ryan Baker has been co-anchoring CBS O&O WBBM’s morning newscast this week, though it’s not clear if the role is permanent or not.
WBBM reporter Mike Puccinell has been anchoring alongside Erin Kennedy since March when the station cut Marissa Bailey.
At the same time, the station also parted ways with main evening anchor Rob Johnson, replacing him with investigative reporter Brad Edwards.
Neither WBBM or Baker responded to requests for comment from Robert Feder.
Baker has been reporting sports in Chicago for 16 years.
