The move comes as the network prepares to launch CNN+ in 2022.
Both CNN and HBO Max are owned by WarnerMedia, which has a pending merger with Discovery.
Although the final lineup of programs to be pulled off HBO Max has yet to be finalized, it’s likely the programming featuring the late Anthony Bourdain and Stanley Tucci’s Italian food and travel series “Searching for Italy.”
Reports say CNN will also stop creating new content for HBO Max, instead sending it to CNN+ once it launches.
