Cyndi Lauper, Jane Lynch developing ‘Golden Girls’-like comedy for Netflix

Jane Lynch and Cyndi Lauper are developing a comedy project for Netflix that’s being billed as a “‘Golden Girls’ for today.”

• Lynch let it slip backstage at the Creative Arts Emmys that she pitched the idea to Netflix and they bought it.
• She also confirmed Lauper is involved in the project.
• When asked to describe the show, Lynch said “We’re our age, I’m almost 60 and she’s 65, and we’re looking for our next act, without ever having had husbands of children. And there will be two other people who haven’t been cast yet.”
