Did Shia LeBeouf laugh at his differently abled co-star struggling to read his lines during the Oscars?
People aren’t all that happy about an incident when actor Shia LeBeouf appeared to laugh at an actor living with Down syndrome during Feb. 9, 2020’s Oscars.
LeBeouf, who stars alongside Zack Gottsagen in “The Peanut Butter Falcon,” appeared to laugh as Gottsagen struggled to read his lines off the teleprompter on the Oscar stage.
However, social media seems divided about whether or not LeBouf was laughing “at” Gottsagen’s struggle or if it was just a good natured laugh between two co-stars.
In fact, some people are celebrating the attention the laugh has brought to the film — something that many people may not have been aware of.
At least one advocacy groups for Down syndrome is praising the film for its inclusion of a differently abled actor in film, according to Page Six.
