In a move that probably could have been pre-written about even before she officially left the White House in June, former White House press secretary Sarah Sanders has joined the Fox cable network known for its cozy relationships with the Trump administration.

Sanders will first appear on the network during a live studio audience segment on the Sept. 6, 2019 edition of “Fox & Friends.”

She will also provide political commentary across Fox properties.

Sanders is the latest in a line of Fox hosts, analysts and execs with uncomfortable ties to the White House and Donald Trump.

Former White House communications director Hope Hicks, who admitted to telling “white lies” on behalf of Trump joined Fox’s parent company as its chief communications officer in 2018.

Raj Shah, a former White House deputy press secretary joined Fox as a SVP in July 2019.

Meanwhile, former Fox co-president Bill Shine left the network to become communications director — but left for the Trump campaign after nine months on the job.

In addition, reports say that Fox personalities include Sean Hannity and Lou Dobbs regularly speak to Trump on the phone, including weighing in on policy and communications issues.

Sanders’ father, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee is also a Fox analyst and Trump supporter.

As paid analysts, both Huckabee and Sanders are likely exempt from most conflict of interest rules typically imposed on networks by news personalities.

Despite that, Fox has remained mostly quiet on Hannity and Dobbs’ reported connections to Trump, with Hannity offering the excuse that he’s not a journalist and, presumably, the rules of a normal news organization don’t apply to him because of that.
