WMAQ, the local NBC owned station in Chicago, has to correct its “big sister” newscast “NBC Nightly News” Aug. 3, 2020.
During a report about coronavirus, correspondent Miguel Almaguer erroneously reported that Chicago Public Schools made the decision to switch from a hybrid model to completely remote.
That is not the case — in fact, later during the station’s 6 p.m. newscast, the station reported the exact opposite — and then had to make an on air “clarification” after its own (correct) reporting.
The original report aired on “Nightly” during its 5:30 p.m. timeslot local time.
