MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell retracts reporting on Trump’s taxes
MSNBC anchor Lawrence O’Donnell issued an on air retraction for a report that said Russian billionaires had co-signed for Deutsche Bank loans issued to Donald Trump.
- The report originally aired Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2019.
- It was a single source story and O’Donnell noted it “wasn’t ready for broadcast, and for that, I apologize.”
- O’Donnell noted that it was too early to know if the story was true or not — but it admitted it wasn’t ready for air.
- Trump fired back at O’Donnell and what he called “the rest of the LameStream Media.”
….for the most ridiculous claim of all, that Russia, Russia, Russia, or Russian oligarchs, co-signed loan documents for me, a guarantee. Totally false, as is virtually everything else he, and much of the rest of the LameStream Media, has said about me for years. ALL APOLOGIZE!
