NBC News and Christie’s Auction House will team up for a collaboration honoring award-winning journalist Martin Fletcher’s remarkable career with “Martin Fletcher, Teachers: The Ones I Can’t Forget.”

Debuting Wednesday, March 29, 2023, the exhibit, located at Christie’s Auction House at Rockefeller Center near NBC News’ world headquarters, will feature 11 unique digital collages of archival freeze-frames and documentation from Fletcher’s nearly 40-year career as an NBC News foreign correspondent.

The images, created by Fletcher, represent some of his most powerful reports and lessons from the field, including unforgettable people he met along the way.

‘The exhibit, supported by Tishman Speyer, will be open to the public and run through Friday, April 7, 2023.

“We’re thrilled to honor Martin’s storied career, which represents the best of NBC News and our mission in reporting on historic events around the world,” said Rebecca Blumenstein, president of editorial at NBC News in a statement. “We are proud to celebrate his legacy as he continues to add to ours.”

“We are proud to host Martin’s thrilling exhibition of works that encompass art, journalism and history,” said Bonnie Brennan, President of Christie’s Americas. “As always, Christie’s doors are open to all, free of charge, and we look forward to sharing this moving presentation with the world, as we congratulate Martin on his magnificent career.”

“Christie’s and NBC are cornerstones of our campus, and we are honored to have the opportunity to celebrate Martin’s legendary work with both of them. This exhibit brings together journalism and art, and is a perfect embodiment of our extraordinary Rockefeller Center community,” EB Kelly, Head of Rockefeller Center and Senior Managing Director of Tishman Speyer, added.

The installation follows the publication of Fletcher’s latest book, “Teachers: The Ones I Can’t Forget.” Proceeds for the book benefit Artolution, a global community-based public arts education organization committed to strengthening communities in crisis through the power of art. Fletcher continues to play a significant role at NBC News as a writing instructor for the network’s correspondents, many of whom now anchor the network’s flagship broadcasts.

Fletcher has reported for NBC News for 35 years, serving the majority of his tenure as the network’s Tel Aviv Bureau Chief and a foreign correspondent. Beginning his journalism career with the BBC in London, Fletcher has reported from nearly every country across the world and won almost every television award, including five Emmys, a DuPont Award, multiple Overseas Press Club awards and Edward R. Murrow Awards. Additionally, he is the author of seven books, including “Walking Israel,” a National Jewish Book Award winner. Fletcher is also the only writer to be honored in both fiction and non-fiction.
