NBC gives ‘Night Court’ revival an early renewal for a second season

Despite only airing four episodes, the NBC sitcom revival “Night Court” has already gotten a Season 2 renewal.
The show, which is meant to pick up the story from the show by the same name that aired 1984 to 1992.
Harry Anderson starred in that version as Harry T. Stone, a judge presiding over evening arraignment court in New York, which often attracted an odd cast of people.
Melissa Rauch, who previously starred in “The Big Bang Theory,” stars in the new version as Stone’s daughter, who returns to her dad’s old stomping grounds.
John Larroquette reprises the same role he played on the original version.
India de Beaufort, Kapil Talwalkar and Lacretta round out the cast.
NBC’s commitment to the show stems after positive early numbers. The network said that 25.7 million people viewed the show’s Jan. 17, 2023, premiere across linear and digital platforms.
The premiere included airing two episodes back-to-back.
