Super Bowl LIII was one of the lowest rated in more than a decade.
- The broadcast television coverage of the game, carried by CBS, drew 98.2 million viewers, according to Nielsen data.
- That number dips below the 100 million mark and but beats out 2008’s 97.5 million.
- The numbers mean this year’s broadcast was down 5 percent over NBC’s coverage last year.
- CBS, meanwhile, is trying to spin the numbers to make them look better.
