‘The Talk’ hiatus will continue through this week

CBS’s “The Talk” has told staffers that the show will not return March 22, 2021 as planned and will remain dark through at least the end of the week, Deadline reported.

The move comes after a heated on air debate about race centered around co-hosts Sharon Osbourne and Sheryl Underwood and accusations of other alleged racist and homophobic behavior by Osbourne.

Following the March 10, 2021 incident, the network put the show on hold and announced an internal investigation.

It was originally scheduled to return March 17, 2021, but the network extended the hiatus through March 23.

Now, the show will not air new episodes through at least March 26, 2021.

CBS had already been scheduled to carry NCAA tournament coverage March 22, 2021, so the show would have been preempted in most markets.

“The Talk” is still on the network schedule for the remainder of the week and will likely air repeats since no new episodes are being produced.

No specific return date for new episodes have been set.
