NBC is planning five special Sunday night editions of “The Tonight” show to following broadcasts of “Sunday Night Football.”
The first edition will air Sept. 8, 2019, followed the Pittsburgh Steelers and New England Patriots matchup.
Among the first guess will be Kelly Clarkson, whose daytime talk show will debut the next day on NBC O&Os and in syndication.
Other post-football shows will air Oct. 6, Oct. 20, Oct. 27 and Dec. 1.
Local news will be sandwiched between the post-game show and Fallon in most markets.
NBC is billing the Sunday editions as a “late night first.”
The show is also planning live shows for the first week of the new season.
