Trump posts fake photo of him giving a dog a medal
Donald Trump, who commonly calls out what he calls “fake news,” tweeted a doctored photo of him putting a medal around a dog.
- The photo was meant to depict the dog who helped capture and kill Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.
- However, The Washington Post pointed out it’s actually a doctored version of an Associated Press photo of 2017 Medal of Honor recipient James McCloughan.
- The New York Times reached out to McCloughan, who apparently didn’t have an issue with the doctored photo removing him — saying Trump is recognizing the dog’s heroism.
- While Trump did tweet the photo from his account, the image appears to have originated from Instagram account of The Daily Caller, a conservative website.
