Whoopi Goldberg is taking some time off from “The View” in order to shoot a project for Amazon Studios.

Co-host Joy Behar, who often steps into the role as moderator when Goldberg is out, announced that Goldberg would be absent from the show for a few weeks in order to film “Anansi Boys,” an Amazon-produced adaptation of a novel of the same name.

She’s set to play “Bird Woman” and the project is being filmed in Scotland, making it impossible for her to jet back and forth for her duties on “The View” in New York.

The ABC daytime talker was previously scheduled for a spring hiatus starting April 18, 2022 and Goldberg’s absence is expected to incorporate some of that time.

Goldberg was previously absent from the show for two weeks starting in February 2022 after stating she felt the Holocaust was “not about race” despite the fact that the Nazis widely believed that Jews were an “inferior race.”

She would later apologize.

This isn’t the first time a “View” co-host has taken extended time off to work on other projects. Former co-host Rosie Perez took time off in her first and only season of the show in 2015 to appear in a play.

Goldberg, who was an accomplished actor before becoming co-host of the show and has appeared on shows including “The Middle” and “Glee” during her time with ABC. She’s also continued to do other film and TV work, including “For Colored Girls,” “Toy Story 3,” “Descendants 2,” “Star Trek: Picard” and “Nobody’s Fool.”

Upcoming projects include a Disney+ film “Sister Act 3,” the second sequel to the hit “Sister Act,” as well as “Till.”
