NBC News‘ Capitol Hill correspondent Kasie Hunt has quit Facebook because “I simply don’t trust them any more,” according to a tweet she posted.
- Kasie Hunt appeared to be calling out Facebook over reports that the company gave third parties access to personal information.
- Facebook has defended its actions in a statement.
- Hunt noted she is keeping her Instagram account open — for now — despite the fact it’s owned and becoming increasingly integrated with Facebook.
- She is also maintaining her Twitter account, even though it, like many other tech companies, has been at the center of controversy over content and privacy.
