At the start of March 17, 2020’s edition of “The View,” co-host Sunny Hostin noted that moderator Whoopi Goldberg was taking the day off to consult with her doctors about whether she should be working during the coronavirus scare.
Hostin was quick to point out that Goldberg says she “feels fine” but given her age and recent health issues she decided to check with a medical pro but “plans” on being back tomorrow.
Co-host Joy Behar, 77, previously announced she would be sitting out for a while due to the outbreak.
Dr. Mehmet Oz, who was guest co-hosting, jumped in to praise the decision of both Behar and Goldberg.
Goldberg is 64, which puts her in the more “senior” at risk category — which could be compounded by her recent health issues.
The previous day, the network introduced a “big ass” desk, as Goldberg put it, to help spread out the co-hosts more.
