ABC News correspondent Matt Gutman has been suspended after incorrectly reporting that all four of Kobe Bryant’s daughters were on board the helicopter that crashed and killed the former NBA player and one of his daughters.
Bryant’s 13-year-old daughter, Gianna, was on board the craft with him, and was killed in the accident.
However, Gutman reported live on air that all four daughters were on board — despite it was confirmed.
Gutman later apologized on Twitter and in a statement issued by ABC.
ABC did not reveal how long Gutman’s suspension would last.
Today I inaccurately reported it was believed that four of Kobe Bryant’s children were on board that flight. That is incorrect. I apologize to Kobe’s family, friends and our viewers. pic.twitter.com/yYwuB9vpZl
