Academy will donate furnishings from Emmys governors ball
The Television Academy will donate the furniture used in for its 71st Annual Governors Ball to charities.
- All told the academy plans to donate 80 custom sofas, chairs and other furnishings to Living Spaces, Habitat for Humanity and the Hollywood Community Housing Project.
- Like many high end parties, the Governors Ball relies heavily on a team of professional designers who create a plush environment for attendees.
- Some events like this may rent furniture, but if the design calls for custom pieces, that’s not an option.
- The Emmys says it has been donating leftover food from its event for the past 24 years.
