CBS News has hired BBC’s foreign news editor Andrew Roy to head up its London bureau.

Roy has been with BBC for 34 years and succeeds Andy Clarke, who exited the network in February 2022 after suggesting he doesn’t respect the network news division leadership.

That statement, made at Clarke’s farewell party, likely refers to how the network allegedly declined to help local journalists and local guides the network used to leave Afghanistan.

Like at most networks, CBS’s London bureau plays a key role in handling international coverage.
