CBS is promoting the return of its full programming lineup with the Rachel Platten song “Soldiers.”

The spot includes clips from multiple CBS programs, with the words to the song appearing on screen as they are sung.

Notably a clip from one of those shows, “Mom,” uses a scene that avoids showing the face of now former star Anna Farris, who exited the show earlier this summer.

“Your favorite originals are coming back soon,” the promo promises at the end.

Late spring and summer TV productions across all networks were upended by the coronavirus pandemic and associated shutdowns. Many shows were unable to complete a full season of episode orders before production was halted, leaving some shows at rather odd, unintended cliffhangers.

As the summer has gone on, many shows have returned to production under strict safety guidelines. Some networks originally pushed back fall premiere dates a bit later than normal, though some of those same networks have since reversed course and moved debuts up a few weeks.

Platten is also the performer of “Fight Song,” a song that was used, in modified form, during the 2016 Democratic National Convention and sung by a slew of celebrities.
