Chicago’s hotly contested mayoral race ratings are in

Despite drawing lukewarm interest from voters, the Chicago mayoral and municipal elections boosted 10 p.m. news ratings for some channels — while others shrank slightly.

  • WLS, the market’s ABC O&O, hit a 8.0 in households and 11 share, compared to a February sweeps average of 6.4 and 12.
  • The market’s NBC O&O WMAQ came in second with a 4.4 and 8 — a dip from its sweeps average of 5 and 9.
  • WGN, which scored big in the morning and midday ratings for February 2019, was third with a 3.1 and 6. Its other sweeps numbers were 2.8 and 5.
  • The CBS O&O WBBM came in last at 10 p.m. with a 3 and 5, dipping from its February averages of 3.1 and 6.
