Former MSNBC and Bloomberg reporter David Gura has joined NPR full time after working the organization on a fill in basis.
Gura joined MSNBC in 2018 to host weekend show “Up,” a new version of a show that had several runs at the network since 2011 with different hosts and timeslots.
“Up” was canceled in 2020 and was replaced with “Velshi.” Gura subsequently left the network.
Prior to NBC, Gura worked at Bloomberg, hosting its morning “Bloomberg Surveillance” program and “Bloomberg Markets: Balance of Power.”
Gura previously worked in radio for “Marketplace,” a program produced and distributed by American Public Media and heard on many NPR member stations.
Gura’s full time role officially starts Aug. 2, 2021.
