A guest on the Fox cable network show “Outnumbered” hilariously got a key fact about marijuana wrong.

Guest David Avella and the hosts were discussing a new set of guidelines San Fransisco is using to refer to people with criminal records.

For example, instead of saying “convicted felon,” the city is encouraging the use of “formerly incarcerated person.”

During a debate on the subject, Avella proceeded to say “And the focus ought to be on a society that follows the law, not allowing people to defecate in the streets, not allowing individuals to lay on the street having just shot up with marijuana …”

He was quickly corrected to note that he probably meant to say “heroin,” the drug most commonly associated with “shooting up.”

However, it is worth noting that cannabis can actually be injected, though it has only been rarely documented and does not appear to be effective way to get “high.”

Interestingly, Mashable notes that “injecting a weed” is a long-running joke referring to people who have no clue how marijuana actually works.
