Lou Dobbs, a host on Fox Business, praised a corrections officer who allegedly intentionally drove a truck into a group protesting ICE roundups and detainments.
The comments aired on the Thursday, Aug. 15, 2019 edition of “Lou Dobbs Tonight.”
During the segment, he said that the protestors “committed assault” by banging on the truck.
He continued by saying the driver was “within his rights” to “proceed to park his vehicle and go to work.”
The segment also included a clip that was edited to remove the part where the officer allegedly drove into the crowd.
The incident in Rhode Island left several protestors injured.
Dobbs was off air Friday, Aug. 16, but Fox says that the absence was planned before he made the comments — and that Dobbs is taking off every Friday for the rest of the month.
