After moving John Roberts off the White House beat for a new show, Fox has named the son of a “Fox & Friends” star as one of the personalities assigned to cover the White House.

Peter Doocy, 33, who is the son of “Fox & Friend” co-host Steve Doocy, will join the White House team, Fox announced Jan. 13, 2021.

Steve covered the Biden presidential campaign for the network, drawing criticism for asking Joe Biden about his younger son, Hunter.

At the time, Joe Biden called Steve a “one trick pony.”

It’s not uncommon for networks to change out White House assignments after an election year.

The younger Doocy started at Fox in 2009 as a general assignment reporter, the same year he graduated from Villanova University. He had also contributed to the channel while in school.

The Doocy family isn’t the only one to see multiple generations in TV business right now. Perhaps most notably, “NBC Nightly News” anchor Lester Holt’s son, Stefan, has worked for major market NBCUniversal owned stations for years, though he’s never held a network level position.

The younger Holt put in time working in local news prior to joining the NBCU family in 2011, having also interned at KABC and NBC News London during college.
