J.J. Abrams reportedly walked away from a $500 million Apple TV deal
While J.J. Abrams‘ Bad Robot production company reportedly signed a $250 million deal with WarnerMedia, the company may have walked away from an even big mega deal at Apple.
- That deal reportedly would have required 100 percent exclusivity, however.
- Bad Robot already has projects in development with Paramount and a new Star Wars movie landing in December, so the exclusivity clause may have been a non starter.
- Abrams and his team also reportedly had concerns about Apple’s TV+ business model.
- Bad Robot was also reportedly concerned that Apple doesn’t own the rights to any existing franchises or characters that Abrams could work with.
