‘Jeopardy!’ dives into its vault for four weeks of programming

Like many shows, syndicated quiz show “Jeopardy!” has been forced to get creative to offer at least quasi-new episodes after the coronavirus forced many to shut down production with not enough episodes in the can to last into the spring and summer months.

The latest idea is four weeks of repeat episodes that include highlights from the show’s 35 year history:

• July 20, 2020: First episode of the current syndicated version’s run
• July 21, 2020: First episode with a so called “surprise ending” that would become part of “Jeopardy!” lore
• July 22, 2020: First “super” champion: Chuck Forrest
• July 23, 2020: First $100,000 champion: Frank Spangenberg
• July 24, 2020: First big tournament final: 10th anniversary
• July 27, 2020: Best of “Celebrity Jeopardy!” Carol Burnett, Regis Philbin, Donna Mills
• July 28, 2020: Best of “Celebrity Jeopardy!” Jodie Foster, Nathan Lane, Harry Connick Jr.
• July 29, 2020: Best of “Celebrity Jeopardy!” Jeff Probst, Charles Barkley, Martha Stewart
• July 30, 2020: Best of “Celebrity Jeopardy!” Wayne Brady, Dana Delany, Eric Idle
• July 31, 2020: Best of “Celebrity Jeopardy!” Michael McKean, Cheech Marin, Jane Curtin
• Aug. 3-14, 2020: Million Dollar Masters tournament

The show notes that viewers should update their DVRs to record both “new” and “repeat” episodes because they may not record properly otherwise.

It’s also worth noting that some of the content will be out of date, but was accurate as of the date the episode was originally aired.
