Julio Vaqueiro to replace José Díaz-Balart on ‘Noticias Telemundo’

Julio Vaqueiro was replace José Díaz-Balart as anchor of Telemundo’s Spanish language signature evening newscast “Noticias Telemundo” Sept. 27, 2021.
Vaqueiro, who is from Mexico, currently anchors the late night edition of the network’s newscast and appears during special coverage as well. He will also continue to report for the network.
Díaz-Balart, who is bilingual, meanwhile, will be moving to MSNBC, which is owned by Telemundo parent NBCUniversal, to anchor an hour of daily programming in English.
Díaz-Balart had been anchor of the show since 2009. He began anchoring “NBC Nightly News” Saturday editions in English in 2015 and will continue to do so moving forward.
