Leslie Jones is exiting ‘SNL’ before the next season starts

Popular cast member Leslies Jones won’t be back at “Saturday Night Live.”
Jones joined “SNL” in 2014.
Her departure from the show was announced about a month before the show is set to begin its 45th season.
Jones is reportedly looking to focus on film projects.
She starred in the “Ghostbusters” reboot in 2016 and has made appearances in other movies.
She is also set to star in “Coming 2 America,” the sequel to “Coming to America,” where she’ll work with fellow “SNL” alum Kennan Thompson.
Jones also has a deal with Netflix to star in a standup special in 2020.
In addition, Jones also garnered a role on NBC’s Olympics coverage starting with the 2016 games in Rio de Janeiro, after her live tweeting and video commentaries went viral on social media.
She returned to help cover the 2018 games as well.
