‘Live with Kelly and Ryan’ goes remote

Disney-ABC Home Entertainment and Television Distribution “Live with Kelly and Ryan” broadcast a split edition with both Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest hosting from home.

The show featured several “guests” — including Ripa’s husband, actor Mark Consuelos, joining her from the same location, and Seacrest’s girlfriend, model Shayna Taylor who helped out with a cooking segment on the “kitchen set” (Seacrest was already in his kitchen).

Carson Kressley also joined the show remotely from his family’s horse farm in Pennsylvania.

Kressley showed off a homemade “Live with Kelly and Ryan” mug he made by putting painter’s tape over one of his own mugs — while Ripa gave Seacrest’s “American Idol” show (which airs on ABC) a shoutout.

The show’s remote broadcast comes as news that the studio it normally uses in New York City is part of the complex where two ESPN employees who tested positive for coronavirus worked.
