Maddow calls for media to stop airing Trump’s coronavirus press conferences live
MSNBC anchor Rachel Maddow called for media, including her own network, to stop airing Donald Trump’s coronavirus press conferences live because of the number of misleading and untrue statements he makes during them.
“If he keeps lying like he has been every day on stuff this important, all of us should stop broadcasting it,” she said in a segment on “The Rachel Maddow Show” Friday, March 20, 2020.
“There may be other people in the federal government saying things that are true, but these daily briefings from the White House are a litany of things from the president that would be awesome if they were true, if they were happening, but they’re not — and so the sooner we come to terms with that, I think the better for all of us,” she added during an extended opening segment from a remote studio setup.
