MSNBC, WaPo’s debate moderators will be all women

The moderators for the Nov. 20, 2019 debate have been named — and all four are women.

  • MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow will moderate along with NBC chief foreign affairs correspondent Andrea Mitchell as well as Kristen Welker, a White House correspondent for the network.
  • These women will be joined by Ashley Parker, the White House reporter for The Washington Post, who is co-hosting the debate with MSNBC.
  • The debate is slated to be held in Georgia, but an exact location has not been picked.
  • MSNBC is currently planning a two hour event — from 9 to 11 p.m.
  • In addition, it’s likely the debate will have a smaller field of candidates after the record breaking dozen at the October event hosted by CNN and The New York Times.
  • As of Oct. 24, 2019, only eight candidates have met the stricter qualifications, according to NBC analysis.
  • This debate, unlike the first democratic debate of the season NBC and Telemundo hosted, will only air on MSNBC, but will also be streamed on NBC News apps and as well as The Post’s digital platforms.
