The victims of CBS News‘ layoffs began to materialize Thursday, May 28, 2020.
New York Magazine and HuffPost contributor Yashar Ali tweeted a series of names that his sources say have been let go by the network.
Those names included White House correspondent Mark Knoller, correspondent Dean Reynolds and Pentagon corespondent Cami McCormick, according to Ali.
Later, however, separate reporting from AdWeek indicated that McCormick is remaining with the network. The same report also indicated Knoller is remaining at CBS for now — but AdWeek notes a potential departure was not directly addressed.
Reynolds, meanwhile, will remain with CBS but retire later this year.
7. I’m also told by three sources familiar with the matter that CBS News Pentagon reporter Cami McCormick has been laid off.
While reporting for CBS in Afghanistan in 2009, Cami lost her leg after an IED hit a US Army vehicle she was traveling in. https://t.co/ylGSD8rf4p
