NBC News is planning to offer weekly coronavirus pandemic specials Tuesdays at 10 p.m. eastern for the next three weeks.
The first installment will air March 31, 2020 anchored by “Today” co-anchors Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb.
Subsequent installments will be anchored by “NBC Nightly News” and “Dateline” anchor Lester Holt, who anchored a previous special report on the network Thursday, March 19, 2020.
The move is partially made possible because “This is Us” wrapped up its season March 24, 2020.
The taped “Ellen’s Game of Games” takes over “The Voice” Tuesday time slot at 8 p.m. (“The Voice” is still airing Mondays), followed by “New Amsterdam” at 9 p.m., in the old “This is Us” time.
That will turn over the 10 p.m. eastern time to the special, which will serve as a late local news lead in in most markets.
