NewsNation has announced that it recorded its highest-rated week yet, though its audience still remains small.

The network trumpeted reaching 67,000 viewers in total day and 13,000 in the adults 25-54 demo.

It also noted that its quarter-to-date ratings are up 23% in the total viewers and 12% in the demo. Its weekday primetime ratings are also up 28% year over year and 46% in the demo.

Its overall week-to-week is also up 5% and 20% in the demo. It also recorded its top-rated week in weekday primetime cume, coming in at an average of 200,000 viewers.

While these numbers show viewership is growing, the numbers still are comparatively small for cable news.

According to Pew Research, last-place CNN averaged 828,073 primetime viewers in 2022, with MSNBC getting 827,182 and Fox dominating with 2.14 million.

Cable news, along with most linear TV, is on a generally downward ratings trend as more viewers turn to digital and streaming sources, though it’s hard to gauge just how much digital platforms attract because broad viewership data isn’t typically publicly available.

Posting growth could be seen as a positive for NewsNation, which launched as a primetime newscast in 2020 before eventually moving to its current news-only schedule all day on weekdays.
