“The Blaze,” the conservative commentary website and streaming service, went decidedly low tech for its coverage of the 2018 midterm elections — using a chalkboard with printed cards that could attach to it to shuffle around the makeup of the house and senate.

The Blaze was founded former Fox News personality Glenn Beck and has struggled financially at times. In 2017, the company cut 60 positions.
