Ecommerce platform Shopify is reportedly eyeing buying Deliverr to help boost its fulfillment offerings, Bloomberg first reported.

Deliverr operates a network of warehouses and distribution centers around the country and uses predictive technology to distribute third-party merchants’ products strategically, increasing the chances it can be delivered within its promised two-day timeframe cost-effectively.

That model is very similar to Shopify’s own fulfillment service that integrates directly with its own online store platform. The company has been setting up warehouses across the country and buying Deliverr could help it quickly grow its footprint as well as pick up any proprietary predictive technology as well as staffers from a company who is focused on fulfillment.

Deliverr’s clients include sellers who use a wide range of platforms, including Amazon. That fact could position Shopify to get its name in front of sellers who are not currently using its services.

If Shopify moves forward with the buy, it could value Deliverr at around $2 billion, making it Shopify’s biggest acquisition to date.

There’s been no official word from either company about a potential sale.
