Trump tags the wrong Jonathan ‘Karl’ — and it turns out the other one was a pastor
Donald Trump meant to insult ABC News’ Jonathan Karl on Twitter last week — but misspelled his last name and ended up tagging a Baptist minister from Kentucky.
- That Jonathan, who spells his name with a “C” — as in “Carl” — soon found himself the target of nasty tweets and attacks from Trump’s followers, who assumed he was the journalist Trump was targeting.
- So, the Jonathan with a “C” penned an open letter to Trump.
- “Although I was an accidental casualty caught in the cross-fire of your ‘lightweight’ tweet, your attack was very purposeful and hurtful. Many others, whether American citizens or global citizens, feel wounded and hurt by the shrapnel and side-effects of your ongoing Twitter attacks,” Carl writes.
- “Let’s be honest, you are a lightweight too,” Carl wrote. “We all are. God is the only heavyweight who knows it all and gets it right all the time,” he added.
