After moving away from using a live studio audience, Jimmy Fallon and his house band The Roots filled the end of “The Tonight Show” Thursday, March 12, 2020, sat stoically on set while the show’s full credits ran.
Fallon signed off from the show and the control room left the mics open and cameras on him and The Roots as they awkwardly sat trying to look like they were — somewhat comically — trying to fill the time.
Meanwhile, the show’s full credits ran in the black bar at the bottom of the screen.
Fallon even got out a bottle of hand sanitizer before leaning back on his chair.
