We now know why Chris Matthews has been out the last few shows

MSNBC “Hardball” host Chris Matthews has been absent for a few days — and now we know why.
- In a statement made on the Monday, Oct. 14, 2019 edition of the show, fill in host Steve Kornacki announced Matthews has undergone prostate cancer surgery.
- The surgery took place last week and reportedly went well.
- Back in 2002, Matthews was hospitalized and missed work after contracting malaria.
Chris hasn't been here for the last few nights and we wanted to let you know why.
